djkr and friends take on Life

this must be the latest post on wkwscifoc 2009. but i feel compelled to write something about it.

2 years ago, i made the decision that changed my life forever. i chose to go for wkwsci foc. i very nearly did not go too, as i was jetting off to hong kong the saturday after camp ended. that was one of the best decisions of my life. it made me friends in school, friends that i still keep till this day. it showed me that wkwsci is not just a school, it is really more like a hall. due to its small size. a place where everybody knows everybody. it has a vibrant community where year 1s can talk to year 4s and year 4s talk to their year 4s (aka year 7s). being a media school, this takes on a greater importance as a giant network of media professionals.

last year, i was OGL of penne, a group of awesome individuals that i was proud to be a part of.

this year i was senior attached to freni, a highly energetic bunch of people who can’t stop moving.

what of next year? and really, i can’t wait for the semester ahead. i really missed wkwsci when i was away.

my brain has just melted after reading the 19562061 posts on the COM203 discussion board.

this coupled with the fact i have to do make up reading on the business law lecture (00956) i missed, as well as readings for western film theory (64118) and COM203, means tomorrow, I will most likely have to down a few kopis before i start the day.

the points on COM203 have been repeated to death. lets just get over it and move on already.

and yes if you didn’t notice it earlier: i got western film theory, business law and japanese 1. please say someone got western film theory. i don’t want to do a presentation all by my lonesome.

but to think of it, i have been rather lucky thus far. i have gotten all i wanted to get. sometimes really luckily. one day i just got out of bed and saw western film theory 64118/1/0 and nabbed it.

after 2 and a half years of waiting, school is finally upon me.

ok i have to admit it.

i went to scour the net for blogs that went for the wkwscifoc 07. wanted to see what their reactions were to the great foc. and i bet i am not alone in doing so. erwin stated in the plug webbie that they did it too. and i expect voyeurs to come here and do the same. come on we are comm studies people, don’t expect less from kaypohs like us.

but it was so fresh. so new. so good to finally get ns out of my system. (not completely of course; i did take away some good memories of ns, contrary to what most people might have experienced) it was good.

so many twists and turns. so much fun. i forgot what it was like to be a student and this jolted me back again.

for hotel charlie and foxtrot november, the two key highlights of the camp, which was supremely well executed and even tricked the keenest of minds. the coordination work and planning must have been meticulous and if you are reading this, well done.

to mee pok, the best og in the foc. cheers. 5 days probably isn’t enough time to know all of you. and yes, the sad truth is depending on how they spilt us up again during school, i may never talk to any of you all again. but it was fun. enjoyed it immensely and i do sincerely hope i will talk to you guys more in school.

to my ogls (and one very fake freshie), thanks for being great and enthusiastic and bringing us into the family.

and so… let the excitement of school start. may every day be a party.

and yes, i would also like to state that have just returned from hong kong. and also i have spammed harry potter and the deathly hallows and finished it. but those are for another post.
